Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Bacillus globisporus globisporus was originally described by Larkin and Stokes 1967. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1979, Rüger and Richter reduced Larkin and Stokes 1967 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies.

This name became illegitimate when the only other member of Bacillus globisporus was elevated to a species.
