Nomenclatural History
The species Bacillus laevolacticus was originally described by Nakayama and Yanoshi 1967. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1994 the name was revived and validly published by Andersch et al.. In 2006, Hatayama et al. established as the basonym of (Andersch et al. 1994) Hatayama et al. 2006 .
