Nomenclatural History
The species Bacillus thermodenitrificans was originally described by Klaushofer and Hollaus 1970. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2000 the name was revived and validly published by Manachini et al.. In 2001, Nazina et al. established as the basonym of (Manachini et al. 2000) Nazina et al. 2001 emend. Coorevits et al. 2012 .
