Nomenclatural History	The subspecies Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius acidocaldarius was originally described and validly published by Wisotzkey et al. 1992. In 1998, Nicolaus et al. reduced Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius (Darland and Brock 1971) Wisotzkey et al. 1992 emend. Goto et al. 2006 to the rank of subspecies.
