Nomenclatural History
|
The subspecies Staphylococcus carnosus carnosus was originally described and validly published by Schleifer and Fischer 1982. In 1998, Probst et al. reduced
Staphylococcus carnosus Schleifer and Fischer 1982 emend. Madhaiyan et al. 2020
to the rank of subspecies. Madhaiyan et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Staphylococcus carnosus utilis Probst et al. 1998
in 2020.
