Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Lactobacillus paracasei paracasei was originally described and validly published by Collins et al. 1989. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 82 in 2008. Collins et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Abo-Elnaga and Kandler 1965 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1989. Collins et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Mills and Lessel 1973 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1989. In 1989, Collins et al. reduced Collins et al. 1989 to the rank of subspecies. In 2020, Zheng et al. established as the basonym of (Collins et al. 1989) Zheng et al. 2020 .
