Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptococcus gallolyticus gallolyticus was originally described and validly published by Schlegel et al. 2003. Beck et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2008. In 2003, Schlegel et al. reduced Osawa et al. 1996 emend. Schlegel et al. 2003 to the rank of subspecies.
