The phylum Thermomicrobia was originally proposed by Garrity and Holt 2001. This name was validly published by Oren and Garrity 2021. Whitman et al. corrected this name from Thermomicrobia (sic) to Thermomicrobiota . Hugenholtz and Stackebrandt transferred the members of this phylum into
Chloroflexota corrig. Garrity and Holt 2021 emend. Hugenholtz and Stackebrandt 2004
in 2004.
