Nomenclatural History
|
The species Arthrobacter nicotianae was originally described by Giovannozzi-Sermanni 1959. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Gelsomino et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Brevibacterium liquefaciens Okabayashi and Masuo 1960 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2004. In 2016, Busse established Arthrobacter nicotianae as the basonym of
Glutamicibacter nicotianae (Giovannozzi-Sermanni 1959) Busse 2016 emend. Deb et al. 2020
