The family Rarobacteraceae was originally proposed and validly published by Stackebrandt and Schumann 2000. Zhi et al. published an emended description of this family in 2009. Salam et al. transferred the members of this family into Rainey et al. 1997 emend. Salam et al. 2020 in 2020.
