Nomenclatural History
The genus Cellulomonas was originally proposed by Bergey et al. 1923. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Stackebrandt et al. published an emended description of this genus in 1982. Stackebrandt et al. transferred the members of Prauser et al. 1970 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Stackebrandt et al. 2002 into this genus in 1982.
