Nomenclatural History
The species Oerskovia xanthineolytica was originally described by Lechevalier 1972. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Stackebrandt et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Metcalf and Brown 1957) Schumann et al. 2001 in 1982.
