Nomenclatural History	The subspecies Clavibacter xyli xyli was originally described and validly published by Davis et al. 1984. In 1984, Davis et al. reduced Clavibacter xyli Davis et al. 1984 to the rank of subspecies. In 2000, Evtushenko et al. established Clavibacter xyli xyli as the basonym of Leifsonia xyli xyli (Davis et al. 1984) Evtushenko et al. 2000 .
