Nomenclatural History	The species Clavibacter xyli was originally described and validly published by Davis et al. 1984. In 1984, Davis et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Clavibacter xyli xyli Davis et al. 1984 . In 2000, Evtushenko et al. established Clavibacter xyli as the basonym of Leifsonia xyli (Davis et al. 1984) Evtushenko et al. 2000 .
