The species Promicromonospora pachnodae was originally described by Cazemier et al. 2003. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 95 in 2004. In 2004, Stackebrandt and Schumann established Promicromonospora pachnodae as the basonym of
Xylanimicrobium pachnodae (Cazemier et al. 2004) Stackebrandt and Schumann 2004 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
