Nomenclatural History
The species Corynebacterium hoagii was originally described by Eberson 1918. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Goodfellow established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Magnusson 1923) Goodfellow and Alderson 1977 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 1986. In 2014, Kämpfer et al. established as the basonym of (Morse 1912) Kämpfer et al. 2014 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 .
