Nomenclatural History

The subspecies Corynebacterium michiganense insidiosum was originally described and validly published by Carlson and Vidaver 1982. In 1982, Carlson and Vidaver reduced
Corynebacterium insidiosum (McCulloch 1925) Jensen 1934 (Approved Lists 1980)
to the rank of subspecies. In 1984, Davis et al. established Corynebacterium michiganense insidiosum as the basonym of
Clavibacter michiganensis insidiosus corrig. (McCulloch 1925) Davis et al. 1984
