Nomenclatural History
The species Corynebacterium sepedonicum was originally described by Skaptason and Burkholder 1942. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1982, Carlson and Vidaver reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Spieckermann and Kotthoff 1914) Carlson and Vidaver 1982 .
