Nomenclatural History
|
The species Corynebacterium variabile was originally described and validly published by Collins 1987. Euzéby corrected this name from Corynebacterium variabilis (sic) to Corynebacterium variabile . Collins formed this name in 1987 by placing the species
Arthrobacter variabilis Müller 1961 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Corynebacterium Lehmann and Neumann 1896 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Baek et al. 2018. Collins et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Caseobacter polymorphus Crombach 1978 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1989. Gelsomino et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Corynebacterium mooreparkense Brennan et al. 2001 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2005.
