Nomenclatural History
|
The species Mycobacterium obuense was originally described by Tsukamura and Mizuno 1971. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1981 the name was revived and validly published by Tsukamura et al.. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. In 2018, Gupta et al. established Mycobacterium obuense as the basonym of
Mycolicibacterium obuense (Tsukamura et al. 1981) Gupta et al. 2018
