The species Micromonospora rhodorangea was originally described by Wagman et al. 1974. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Kasai et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Luedemann and Brodsky 1964 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Kasai et al. 2000 in 2000.
