Nomenclatural History
The genus Saccharopolyspora was originally proposed by Lacey and Goodfellow 1975. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Korn-Wendisch et al. published an emended description of this genus in 1989. Korn-Wendisch et al. transferred the members of Kurup and Agre 1983 into this genus in 1989.
