Nomenclatural History
The species Lentzea violacea was originally described and validly published by Labeda et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Labeda et al. formed this name in 2001 by placing the species Lee et al. 2000 into the genus Labeda et al. 1984 emend. Labeda and Lechevalier 1989. In 2018, Nouioui et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Lee et al. 2000) Nouioui et al. 2018 .
