Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptomyces cinnamoneus sparsus was originally described by Garrity et al. 2007. Garrity et al. formed this name in 2007 by placing the subspecies Thirumalachar 1968 (Approved Lists 1980) into the species Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium cinnamoneum (Benedict et al. 1952) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980).
