Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces distallicus was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Labeda established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium netropsis (Finlay et al. 1951) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1996. Lanoot et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Pridham et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Lanoot et al. 2004 in 2004. established as a later homotypic synonym of Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2017.
