The species Streptomyces fimicarius was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rong and Huang established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces acrimycini (Preobrazhenskaya et al. 1957) Pridham et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2010. Rong and Huang established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces baarnensis Pridham et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2010. Rong and Huang established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces caviscabies Goyer et al. 1996
in 2010. Rong and Huang established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces flavofuscus (Kudrina 1957) Terekhova and Preobrazhenskaya 1986
in 2010. Kim et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
