Nomenclatural History	This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 22 in 1986. The species Streptomyces fumigatiscleroticus was originally described by Pridham 1970. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1986 the name was revived by Goodfellow et al.. Goodfellow et al. established Streptomyces fumigatiscleroticus as a later homotypic synonym of Chainia fumigata Thirumalachar et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1986.
