Nomenclatural History

The species Streptomyces hachijoensis was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Hatano et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces cinnamoneus Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium cinnamoneum (Benedict et al. 1952) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2003. established Streptomyces hachijoensis as a later homotypic synonym of
Streptoverticillium hachijoense (Hosoya et al. 1952) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2017.
