Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces hachijoensis was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Hatano et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium cinnamoneum (Benedict et al. 1952) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2003. established as a later homotypic synonym of (Hosoya et al. 1952) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2017.
