The species Streptomyces hiroshimensis was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces biverticillatus Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium biverticillatum (Preobrazhenskaya 1957) Farina and Locci 1966 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2003. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces rectiverticillatus Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium rectiverticillatum (Krasil'nikov and Yuan 1965) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2003. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces roseoverticillatus (Shinobu 1956) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991
