Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptomyces hygroscopicus glebosus was originally described by Ohmori et al. 1962. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rong and Huang elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Ohmori et al. 1962) Rong and Huang 2012 in 2012. Komaki and Tamura established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Backus and Tresner 1956 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki and Tamura 2020 in 2020.
