Nomenclatural History
The species Chlorobaculum limnaeum was originally described and validly published by Imhoff 2003. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019.

This name was considered to be NVP via Opinion 81. However, a second deposit exists in NBRC.
