Nomenclatural History
The species Goodfellowia coeruleoviolacea was originally described and validly published by Labeda and Kroppenstedt 2006. Labeda and Kroppenstedt formed this name in 2006 by placing the species (Preobrazhenskaya et al. 1987) Kroppenstedt et al. 1991 into the genus (Labeda and Kroppenstedt 2006) Labeda et al. 2008. Labeda et al. replaced this illegitimate name with (Preobrazhenskaya et al. 1987) Labeda et al. 2008 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2008.

This name is illegitimate because the generic epithet is a later homonym of the zoological genus name Goodfellowia.
