Nomenclatural History	The species Leifsonia xyli was originally described and validly published by Evtushenko et al. 2000. In 2000, Evtushenko et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Leifsonia xyli xyli (Davis et al. 1984) Evtushenko et al. 2000 . Evtushenko et al. formed this name in 2000 by placing the species Clavibacter xyli Davis et al. 1984 into the genus Leifsonia Evtushenko et al. 2000 emend. Dastager et al. 2009.
