Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces albus was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1943. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 29 in 1963. Labeda et al. published an emended description of this species in 2014. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. In 1962, Nagatsu et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Rossi Doria 1891) Waksman and Henrici 1943 (Approved Lists 1980) . Labeda et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Duché 1934) Pridham et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2014. Labeda et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Duché 1934) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2014. Labeda et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Erikson 1935) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2014. Labeda et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of corrig. (Erikson 1935) Pridham et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2014.
