Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces rangoonensis was originally described by Pridham et al. 1958. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Trüper and De' Clari corrected this name from (sic) to . Labeda et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Rossi Doria 1891) Waksman and Henrici 1943 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2014.
