Nomenclatural History
The species Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli was originally described by Baldacci et al. 1966. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hill et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . In 1957, Arai et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 . established as an earlier homotypic synonym of (ex Arai et al. 1957) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli corrig. (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2017.
