Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli olivoreticuli was originally described by Baldacci et al. 1966. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1957, Arai et al. reduced corrig. (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies. In 1990, Witt and Stackebrandt established as the basonym of (Arai et al. 1957) Witt and Stackebrandt 1990 .

Although this name did not exist prior to the Approved Lists, it retroactively became Validly Published via Rule 40d.
