Nomenclatural History
The species Clavibacter michiganense was originally described and validly published by Davis et al. 1984. Zgurskaya et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. In 1984, Davis et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form corrig. (Smith 1910) Davis et al. 1984 . Davis et al. formed this name in 1984 by placing the species (Smith 1910) Jensen 1934 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Davis et al. 1984.
