Nomenclatural History
|
The species Bacillus thermoantarcticus was originally described by Nicolaus et al. 1996. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 84 in 2002. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Upon validation, this name was corrected from Bacillus thermoantarcticus (sic) to Bacillus thermantarcticus . In 2012, Coorevits et al. established Bacillus thermoantarcticus as the basonym of
Geobacillus thermantarcticus (Nicolaus et al. 2002) Coorevits et al. 2012
