Nomenclatural History	The species Kitasatosporia cochleata was originally described and validly published by Zhang et al. 1997. Upon validation, this name was corrected from Kitasatosporia cochleata (sic) to Kitasatospora cochleata . Zhang et al. formed this name in 1997 by placing the species Streptomyces cochleatus Nakagaito et al. 1993 into the genus Streptomyces Waksman and Henrici 1943 (Approved Lists 1980) emend.
