The species Mameliella alba was originally described and validly published by Zheng et al. 2010. Liu et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hördt et al. in 2020. Liu et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Chen et al. 2015 in 2018. Liu et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Xu et al. 2015 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 in 2018.
