Nomenclatural History
|
The family Treponemataceae was originally proposed by Robinson 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this family in 2020.
Hördt et al. 2020 effectively reverses the unification of this family into Spirochaetaceae by Smibert 1974.
