Nomenclatural History
The species Treponema zuelzerae was originally described by Abt et al. 2013. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 153 in 2013. Abt et al. formed this name in 2013 by placing the species (ex Veldkamp 1960) Canale-Parola 1980 into the genus Schaudinn 1905 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Abt et al. 2013.
