Nomenclatural History
The species Spirochaeta zuelzerae was originally described by Veldkamp 1960. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1980 the name was revived and validly published by Canale-Parola. In 2013, Abt et al. established as the basonym of (Canale-Parola 1980) Abt et al. 2013 .
