Nomenclatural History

The family Incertae sedis 121 was originally proposed by Tirandaz et al. 2015. Hördt et al. replaced this name with
Nitrobacteraceae Buchanan 1917 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Hördt et al. 2020
in 2020.
"Incertae sedis" ("of uncertain placement") are placeholders and should not be considered to be formal names.
