The species Rhodococcus enclensis was originally described and validly published by Dastager et al. 2014. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Nouioui et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Xu et al. 2007 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2018.
