Nomenclatural History

The species Salipiger nanhaiensis was originally described and validly published by Dai et al. 2015. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Huang et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Thiobacimonas profunda Li et al. 2015 emend. Huang et al. 2017
in 2017.
