Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudooceanicola batsensis was originally described by Lai et al. 2015. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 164 in 2015. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Lai et al. formed this name in 2015 by placing the species Cho and Giovannoni 2004 into the genus Lai et al. 2015 emend. Liang et al. 2021.
