Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Propionibacterium acnes elongatum was originally described and validly published by Dekio et al. 2015. In 2019, Dekio et al. established as the basonym of (Dekio et al. 2015) Dekio et al. 2019 .

This subspecies was stranded in the transfer of Propionibacterium acnes to the new genus Cutibacterium by Scholz et al. 2016.
