Nomenclatural History
The species Paraclostridium bifermentans was originally described and validly published by Sasi Jyothsna et al. 2016. Kutsuna et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Sasi Jyothsna et al. formed this name in 2016 by placing the species (Weinberg and Séguin 1918) Bergey et al. 1923 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Chamkha et al. 2001 into the genus Sasi Jyothsna et al. 2016. In 2019, Kutsuna et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Weinberg and Séguin 1918) Kutsuna et al. 2019 .
